Melintor

I have a lot of notes for the world in which I have written my several fantrashy(*) stories and wanted to collate them. Being me, because such athing eats no meat for me, I've bunged up a CMS and piled pages into it.
The exercise of the project is mainly to assemble a cohesive set of notes to cross reference my stories with and into. I'm undoubtabley being pretentiously nerdy but it's a cheap hobby.

If anyone wants to point out inconsistencies in my information, or is just nosey/curious, the pages are at
http://www.melgir.co.uk/melintor/
but still something of a work in progress.

I've stripped out the occassional references to "because of porn" and "but this is pornworld!", etc, so have a token "swedish au-pairs go ninja naked with axes" here. There are no NSFW graphics, unless maps are bad things.

It is a simple pleasure but I've finalised the title of one of my Torrid Little Novels that I've been working on for a while.
This one is a bit of a slog. I know where i want to go, I'm just having slow inspiration as to enjoyable ways to get along the journey. That is ways which are; rip-roaring, torrid(nooky) or torrid(gatuitous magic). Or indulgent lryical prose.

It's all about a chase across country and then across oceans and a litter of bodies.
I've settled on MURDER ON THE NORTH BY NORTH WEST PASSAGE.
Unlikely to be a in a shop at all, never mind one near you.

I have some new boots. My para boots have developed a 3 inch split on the instep. This is decidely not watertight. My nice brown rigger boots may also not be as damp resistant as they were. I don't know of a handy shop nearby, so I used tinternet and bought some boots at random.
Not quite random; they were the cheapest option of what a place wasn't out of stock of.
Magnum "Jungle" boots. Meh, they seem okay, but not as full in the calf as my lardy jambs would really like. They'll do for kicking around a soggy field but not sure how much treking I'd like to do.

I occassionally re-read my "first book" to continually proof it. I find I enjoy reading it. Even though I obviously know all the story within it I get quite excited as I read along with the rip-roaring parts and get quite sniffly at the emotional bits. I suppose it's not that surprising; I wrote it mostly for me, from a few original scenes, and it grew around me as a colaboration between the writer, the characters and the setting.

It was conjectured that William of Baskerville in The Name Of The Rose was intended to be a younger version of Cadfael, as in actually the same person.
Discuss.

It had come up because in the latest book wot I wrote, started at Christmas, the narrating character is much like a quite young version of such character(s), only recently having taken to monkery and thus chosen to Go And Do Something.

Seem to have plot for new book. And narrated by a bloke this time.
Set in stage 1 of my own little universe.
Perhaps dry times on it will poke me to fill in and finish my other damn books?......

As I scribe an growing series of The Book and its sattellite novellas, I become more aware of my theme. I'm pleased with it. I think the indulgence of grand magic and gratuitous sex is just a vehicle for Something Else that I like more.
But, like wishes, to name it is to loose it.
