International Cuisine
Sep. 23rd, 2007 05:01 pmOn the way back from the gig on Saturday night, having not eaten greatly during the day (ineptitude not virtue) I sought a Chinese Takeaway in Hitchin.
I've kinda taken Tong Dynasty off the list, as their pork balls can be a bit Over Done and rest a bit greasy.
So I tried the Magic Wok in the rank of takeaway shops near the Wheatsheaf.
Their pork balls were unusual in that they seemed filled with what appeared to be large piece of meat, rather than the usual small piece of meats and gtistle. Techncailly very nice but a bit chewy.
Their chow mein was Very Odd. I don't know if the sweet & sour sauce was a bit tomatoey but the noodles tasted more like spagetti. I presume they are all made from a similar process but these were like stuff from a Heinz tin. They really just did not fit in!
